September 2026 Full Moon

The Aries Harvest Moon • September 26, 2026

Well, This One Feels Personal…

On September 26th—my birthday—the Full Harvest Moon rises in fiery Aries, shining opposite the Libra Sun.

My birthday…a Full Moon…Aries fire…Libra balance…the beginning of Autumn.

Apparently, the Universe decided subtle wasn't necessary this year.

And honestly, I'm here for all of it.

September has always carried a certain kind of magick. It is the ninth month, and 9 is the number of completion—closing circles, gathering wisdom, and standing at the threshold between what has been and what comes next.

And 9 has some beautifully witchy roots.

Three times three. Three carries creation, harmony, and wisdom. In the Tarot, III is The Empress—abundance, sensuality, creativity, and the sacred feminine. We find three again in the Triple Goddess: Maiden, Mother, and Crone.

Three times three brings us to 9…completion…full circle.

Maybe that's why September always feels like a doorway.

And Then the Wheel Turns…

Just days before this Full Moon, we cross the Autumn Equinox and enter Libra Season, that sacred moment when light and darkness stand in balance.

Mabon. Harvest. Gratitude.

A pause between what has been and what is becoming.

Libra asks us to find balance, but just when she has us contemplating relationships, compromise, and balance…Aries kicks open the door.

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac—taking us back to our original spark of Soul—the part that remembers why we came here. But Aries can also illuminate those old stories and patterns we've carried since childhood—the ones that taught us how to survive, belong, or be loved.

Under this Full Moon, some of them may be impossible to ignore. Because this Aries–Libra Full Moon brings us into the dance between independence and partnership, or better yet, keeping the peace or speaking our truth.

There comes a moment when holding everything together becomes more exhausting than admitting something needs to change.

But now, this  Full Moon whispers—(or perhaps shouts)—Enough.

Not from anger. Not from selfishness. But because our own life belongs in the equation too. Sometimes the most sacred words we can speak are:

I choose myself. That doesn't mean abandoning those we love.

It means no longer abandoning ourselves to keep everyone else comfortable.

Think back to those intentions whispered into the darkness earlier this year—the seeds planted, risks taken, and decisions made. Some may finally be showing themselves now. Something once distant may suddenly feel possible. Or perhaps you'll realize what you once wanted isn't what your soul wants anymore.

There will be a little fire under this moon…This is Aries, after all, so emotions may run a little hotter. Whatever has been simmering beneath the surface may demand attention. Don't be afraid of the fire. Just don't hand it the car keys.

Pause. Breathe. Walk barefoot. Get near the water. Light a candle. Dance. Make love. Create something. Move the energy instead of allowing it to move you.

Because fire isn't only destructive. Fire transforms.

This Full Moon is ripe with creativity, sensuality, romance, sacred sexuality, sex magick, Tantra and bringing our desires into form. And if the shadows rise? Let them. A shadow beneath the light of a Full Moon is simply something asking to be witnessed.

And with Harvest, the Season of the Witch Is Calling…

Autumn is here. The light begins its slow surrender to darkness, and we enter that deliciously mysterious part of the Wheel where nature reminds us that letting go is not the same as losing. Nature simply knows when it's time. And perhaps we do too.

So, loves, follow this Moon into the shapeshifting season.

Gather what has grown. Honor what has ended. Release what has become too heavy to carry into another season. Be grateful for the person you have been and make room for who you are becoming. Be fierce; ' tis the season of letting go.

And For Me…Another Trip Around the Sun.

There is something especially magickal about having this Full Moon fall directly on my birthday. A Full Harvest Moon? That feels like a cosmic wink!

A reminder that growing older isn't about becoming less. It's about becoming more completely ourselves.

More discerning. More comfortable in our skin. More willing to say no…and much more willing to say YES when our soul means yes.

More grateful for those who walk beside us.

And far less interested in carrying what was never ours to begin with.

So beneath my birthday Full Moon, I won't be giving the Universe a long wish list. I think I'll simply stand beneath her light and say:

Thank you.

For what stayed…For what left…For what nearly broke me…For what healed me.

For what I still don't understand…For every wild, beautiful, messy mile of this journey…And for whatever magick is still waiting around the bend.

A Simple Aries Full Moon Ritual

On the evening of the Full Moon, light a candle and give yourself a few quiet moments.  Write down three things you are proud of bringing to fruition this year. Then write down three things you are no longer willing to carry.

Safely burn or tear the second list, returning those energies to the Universe.

Keep the first. That is your harvest.

Place your hands over your heart and ask:

What would I choose if I stopped choosing from fear?

Don't force the answer. Let the Moon illuminate it. She usually does.

Blessed Full Moon, beautiful souls. Blessed Mabon. Blessed turning of the Wheel.

May we have the courage of Aries to choose ourselves, the grace of Libra to love without losing ourselves, and the wisdom of Autumn to know what is ready to fall away. And as for me…

I'll be celebrating another journey around the Sun beneath one gloriously bright Full Moon.

Now that's my kind of birthday magick.
